Registration for the 2025-2026 ski season is now available.
The 51st Great Labrador Loppet
We totally organized the The Great Loppet to be on the trails from Whitewolf and Duley Park 20 & 10 Kms but Mother Nature interfered with temperatures of up to -50”C, that resulted in cancelation which affected all the venues.
We had to reorganize and go the next day Sunday March 29th at our own venue at the Menihek Chalet and use the Menihek Trails. We had 81 skiers register for the events 3.3,5,10 & 20 kms. Doug Yetman did great job with Timing & Results.
Although the weather wasn’t much warmer, it seems everyone enjoyed the day on our trails.
Alfred Parsons did a great job of grooming and lots of compliments. Tony Lawrence and his group had no problem moving to Rideout’s Run Cabin for the feed station. Ross O’Keefe and Erin looked after the feed station by the lodge and nice job. Craig Porter ensured Safety all around representing Labrador West Ground Search & Rescue. Beatrice and the ladies did a great job with food at the chalet and set up . Rhonda organized the kids awards and presentations and prizes good job. Melisa and Courtney did all the decorating and set up at the lodge for the Adult Presentations and awards and looked after the events really nice job. Tim Winsor took over as chief Chef for the BBQ and it was delicious.

Menihek Nordic Ski Club is pleased to announce its partnership with the Canadian Ski Marathon in offering an official CSM training trail. Every February, this organization holds the longest running Nordic Ski Marathon in North America between Montreal and Ottawa. Admission into their training trail system has meant that Menihek Nordic Ski Club joins a select group of cross-country ski clubs and resorts across Canada and the United States, who offer high quality skiing experiences. The Club's 15.8 km training trail is the first one of its kind in Labrador and only the 2nd one in the province.
IMPORTANT NOTICE - To ski or snowshoe on Menihek Nordic Ski Club's groomed trails, you are required to have a valid pass. Day, night, weekly and seasonal passes can be bought here or at the chalet main office between 9 am and 5 pm. Skiers and snowshoers using club trails will be randomly checked for valid passes over the upcoming weeks. You must have the pass visible for easy checking. For club members who have not yet picked up their 2025-2026 season passes, please make arrangements to do so and ensure that it is easily visible.

Beautifully nestled in the birch and spruce forest of the Wapusakatto Mountains of Western Labrador, the Menihek Nordic Ski Club is your nordic ski destination! The Menihek Nordic Ski Club operates and maintains an impressive network of trails which can be enjoyed year-round.
Founded in 1975, the Menihek Nordic Ski Club is an accomplished cross-country ski facility which boasts a spacious modern base lodge. Our cozy and comfortable A-frame lodge is complete with canteen, washrooms, meeting rooms, free wifi, indoor barbecue pit, and licensed bar. The wax hut is equipped with waxing facilities, ski lockers, chariot baby sleds and a compliment of ski and snowshoe rentals.
During the summer and fall months, learn about the local animals, birds, insects, and plants as you meander along the interpretive trails. Be sure to take a selfie next to the magnificent Menihek waterfall, one of the most photographed areas in all of Labrador West.
